Avoid Fraudsters
Fraudsters may attempt to impersonate Casino Nanaimo or many other casino or entertainment properties throughout BC. This may include their use of:
- fake emails, domain names and website links that are confusingly similar to Casino Nanaimo
- online gaming apps that include the Casino Nanaimo name, logo or other trademarks
- text messages that claim to be from Casino Nanaimo or a team member
- phone calls claiming to be from Casino Nanaimo or a Casino Nanaimo team member, pertaining to Facebook, Instagram, or X (formerly Twitter) groups and promotions
Warning Signs
Casino Nanaimo will NEVER:
- contact you and ask for ANY personal information, including your name, phone number, address, or Social Insurance Number
- contact you and ask for ANY financial information, including your credit card numbers or bank account numbers
- require you to pay a fee to participate in a promotional event or collect a promotional give-away

Meta Scam: Casino Nanaimo, January - March 2025
1. Details of the scam:
Casino Nanaimo is currently the target of a deceptive Instagram and Facebook scam ad. This counterfeit initiative exploits our casino’s name, logo, and features unauthorized photos of employees and/or property building.
The scam falsely promises exclusive casino welcome bonuses and free spins to individuals who download an alleged Casino Nanaimo online app. This is a phishing attempt targeting our community, and we urge caution
2. What should you know:
- We do not have an online gaming app for Casino Nanaimo.
- Casino Nanaimo nor any affiliated destinations host online betting apps, draws, contests, or applications of this nature.
3. Red Flags to look out for:
- The pages behind this scam are not official Casino Nanaimo accounts.
- Our legitimate promotions are exclusively run through the handles @casinonanaimo on Facebook, and @casino_nanaimo on Instagram.
- Spot the errors! Typos, grammatical mistakes, and other inconsistencies can be telltale signs of a scam.
4. What should you do?
- Alert us immediately by sharing a link to the suspicious post or ad using the contact details on our official website.
- Never share financial details. You shouldn’t be asked for your bank or credit card details to claim a prize..
- Guard your personal details. Only provide personal information through validated Casino Nanaimo platforms.
- Refrain from interacting with the scam post or any embedded links.
- Help curb the spread: Report the deceptive advertisement by selecting the “Report Ad” option, accessible via the three dots at the top right corner of the ad.
